Despite being relatively upbeat about his game and the new venue leading into this week's Melwood Prince George's Country Open, Paul has missed the cut at the event near Washington DC and will now look ahead two weeks to the Fort Smith Classic in Arkansas. The Knoxville Open, which was to be played next week, has been put back until later in the year and so Paul will take the week off and spend some time in Florida before heading to Fort Smith.
Paul never really recovered from a slow start on Thursday and will be keen to get things sorted out next week before the all important Fort Smith Classic after which a re-ranking will take place.

Paul is back on the Nationwide Tour this week where he will play the
Melwood Prince Georges County Open at the George Cobb designed
University of Maryland Golf Course in College Park near Washington DC.
The
venue is a new one for this year and one that Paul likes. "The golf
course seems to suit me a little better," he said on Tuesday. "It is a
more traditional style of golf course (it was built in 1958) where the
emphasis is on placement rather than pure power."
"I am
feeling good about my game. Just before I came over here last weekend a
couple of things seemed to kick into place and hopefully what I am now feeling will stay with me. I played a lot better today in my practice
round with Adam Bland and Alistair Presnell than I have been in earlier
events this season so we shall see how it all pans out."
"I
need a good finish either this week or in the Fort Smith event in
Arkansas in two weeks time in order to be comfortable about getting
starts in ongoing events this season. I will play this week and have
next week off so will head down to Florida for the week before playing
another golf course I enjoy at the event in Fort Smith."
"These are important weeks for me but feel confident enough in the way my game is shaping up."
