It was a much improved display by Paul in round two of the Viking Classic but his form reversal was not enough to overcome a poor finish to yesterday's opening round. A back nine of 40 in round one saw Paul finish with 77 and with the cut looking to be around even par starting round two, he needed something special if he was to be around for the weekend. 

Paul's overall play did improve considerably in round two and when he reached the turn in three under for the day and two over for the tournament there was a chance that he might yet be able to scrape through to the weekend. The momentum he had been building however was slowed by a bogey at his 12th hole and he eventually missed by three shots. 

Paul now plays the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio, looking for that one big week to turn around what has been a frustrating and unproductive season to date.
