Paul has missed the cut by a narrow one shot in Chattanooga, an improved second round of 70 not quite good enough to get the job done although an eagle at his final hole going close to providing weekend work.

An early double bogey in round one had Paul on the back foot for much of the opening two rounds and he was unable to fully recover.

For Paul this will mean he needs a big week next week at the Miccosukee Championship in Miami if he is to have any chance of making the elite field for the Tour Championship the following week. Given current money list positions he will need a top two next week if he is to play the Tour Championship otherwise he will need to wait for Stage Two of the PGA Tour School in November.
