After such an encouraging tournament last week in Maryland, Paul has bowed out of the Bank of America Open near Chicago earlier than expected.

Despite an improvement of five shots on his opening round of 75, Paul missed the cut by three shots and will now head to Raleigh in North Carolina for next week's Rex Hospital Open, an event in which he finished runner up in 2004.
