| Paul improves but misses cut |

His opening round of 76 had done too much damage for him to be able to recover sufficiently but he ended the season with a round that will give him at least some positive thoughts. Paul made a late run at making what is likely to be a cutline of 1 over that still in the air with 78 players being forced to finish their second rounds on Saturday. Paul will get the chance to spend some time at home now with the next event not likely to be until the Johnnie Walker Classic and Nationwide Tour events in early February. We will have the chance to talk with Paul in the next week or so to discuss his year. Photo Anthony Powter

Paul will miss the cut at the Australian Open despite a much improved second round of 71 at the Royal Sydney Golf Club today.
