Paul has improved from his overnight position of 8th to outright second position after the round two of the USPGA Tour qualifying school in La Quinta, California.

Five birdies and one bogey saw Paul finish with 68 and at 6 under par he is three back of the leader Rick Barcelo who added a 64 to his opening round of 71 to be at 9 under.

There are stiil four rounds to play before the cards are handed out but Paul has made just the start he was looking for and continues the form he displayed during the latter stages of the recent Australian Open.
