Paul faces his final test this week in terms of 2007 USPGA Tour starts when he tees it up at the Children's Miracle Workers Charity Classic in Orlando with a top four finish the minimum he needs to have at least limited status in 2008 and to avoid Stage Two of Tour School.
Speaking from his home in Orlando on Wednesday, Paul expressed concern regarding the likelihood of the event starting on time due to the heavy rain in the area in recent days. "We will be lucky to get started on time as it has been quite a deluge already this week," said Paul.
"I figure I need a top four to make the top 150 and probably first or second to make top 125 so it is a big task but last week I was pleased with the way I played from tee to green - in fact it was probably the best all year. The Belly Putter keeps getting better the more use I have with it. This is the 4th week I have been using it and I really do like it."
"If things don't work out then I will be back to Stage Two at Tour School, my venue being in Panama City near Pensacola where I have been successful in graduating previously so if it has to be then I know I have done it before and that I am beginning to play better also. That would also mean another month at least here in the US and I am missing the family but it goes with the territory I guess."
Paul has struggled in this event previously not having made the cut in three starts but with his play on the improve in recent weeks then this could provide a significant turnaround.
