"I was pleased to get a start last week at the Bob Hope as initially I didn't think I stood a chance so it was a pleasant surprise to get the call up. I had intended on coming back to Australia last week but it did not work out that way." Paul made the cut at the Bob Hope and finished 48th and he now faces the North and South Course layouts at Torrey Pines, the latter of which is to be used for the US Open in 2008. Paul is playing the Buick for just the third time this week, making the cut in one of his two previous visits. He has an early tee time in round one when he will play the South Course with Woody Austin and Daniel Chopra. |

As he prepared for this week's Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines, Paul talked about his need for improvement in his putting. "Overall my ball striking has not been too bad in these first two events but because I have put so much into my ball striking I feel I have neglected my short game to some extent and need to work on that this week."
