Following what had been an encouraging opening round of his 2009 Nationwide Tour season, Paul has bowed out of the Panama Championship at the halfway stage, his second round of 75 leaving him three short of the required mark of 3 over.

Paul was well placed to make the cut at the demanding Panama Golf Club when he made the turn in just one over for the day and two over for the tournament but double bogies at his 11th and 15th holes put paid to any hope he had of making the weekend field.
