Paul has made the cut at the Valero Texas Open after two late birdies ensured he finished inside the cut mark of 1 under. A second round of 68 added to his opening 70 has him at 2 under and in 49th place. 

It was a much improved effort from Paul, not only in the score he produced but in the manner in which he hit the ball. His putting was not as good as it had been on day one but overall it was an encouraging day especially given that he rallied when he needed to late in the round to get the job done.

It was only the 8th cut Paul has made in 22 PGA Tour starts this season so the significance can't be underated.
