Paul has slipped from contention to miss the cut at the Reno Tahoe Open, his second round of 79 slipping from a challenging positon after round one to miss the cut by two. It was a disappointing way to finish the tournament for Paul after his much improved showing at the Canadian Open last week indicated that things were back on track.

Paul had struggled for much of his round but was still comfortably inside the cutline with just three holes to play. A double bogey at the par three 16th after finding the water had Paul on the cutline but he then compounded the issue with bogies at the par five 17th after finding the thick rough right of the fairway and then bogeyed the last after hitting a good drive.

Paul will struggle to get starts over the next few weeks but should be able to play the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro in two weeks time.
