Paul has made an astonishing comeback during the second round of the Australian Open at the New South Wales Golf Club, recovering form not only an opening round of 78 but a slow start to his seocnd round also. Through three holes of round two Paul was at 8 over par for the tournament and with the cutline looking to be around 5  or 6 over he would need soemhting very special in the demanding conditions of day two.

Paul's recovery began with a birdie at the 18th (his 9th hole of the round) and continued with four further birdies in his closing nine holes to finish with a round of 69 and at 3 over he would finish well and truly inside the cutline.

It was an encouraging effort and whatever the next two days brings Paul can take a lot out of a round which he played so well on such a tough day.
