After fighting his way back from an early double bogey in round four of the Fort Smith Classic in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Paul faltered over the closing stages at the Hardscrabble Golf Course and eventually finished in 44th position.

Despite finishing so far back, there were again encouraging signs for Paul, his putting in the early stages of the event a significant improvement on recent efforts.

Paul will now move to the Nationwide Tour Players Cup in where a really good week could potentially change his whole season. With US$1 million up for grabs and a first prize of US$180,000 the opportunity exists for dramatic improvement in fortunes. That event will be held at the Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport in West Viriginia.
